Just demoralize them - S Sreesanth’s special request for KL Rahul

KL Rahul has been in sensational form ever since his return to the Indian side,  having blasted a century in his very first game against Pakistan while knitting together a well-constructed 39 against Sri Lanka. With the runs starting to flow from his bat, the Indian fans are pretty hyped about him taking the yard as the Men in Blue gear up first for the Australia series ahead of the World Cup.

Such was his dominance that the Indian management has named him as Indian team captain in Rohit Sharma’s absence for the first two ODIs against Australia. Former Indian fast bowler, S Sreesanth, had a very special request for head coach Rahul Dravid pertaining to KL Rahul.

Talking to Sportskeeda, Sreesanth said, “I would ask the likes of KL Rahul to play all the games and maintain the consistency that we spoke about. Show Australia that it will be worse for them in the World Cup. Just demoralize them and make sure we don’t lose.”

He also had a crucial message for Jasprit Bumrah, adding, “It will be interesting to see the kind of pitches they offer to Australia in the series. But I want Bumrah to be rested if there is a niggle. Let him decide how his body is feeling. He deserves to make that decision and choose his priority. The use of fast bowlers would be crucial. They should rotate them and the fast bowlers should focus on bowling in partnerships.”g
