We want to create new memories for our fans – Virat Kohli

After India’s resounding victory against Sri Lanka in the Asia cup final, the Men in Blue will be hoping to get themselves in the right stride ahead of the upcoming World Cup.

However, ahead of the quadrennial extravaganza, India will be up against Australia for a three-match ODI series. As the BCCI announced the squad for the upcoming tournament, the big news that stole headlines was that Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma were rested for the first couple of ODIs.

The seasoned duo will be returning to the squad for the final ODI and then will be hoping to start the World Cup on a right note. Ahead of the global extravaganza, Kohli had a very special message for the fans and it was also an emotional one that circulated a lot on social media.

Talking on Star Sports, Virat Kohli said, “The passion and unwavering support of our fans is what fuels our determination to win the World Cup. The memories of past World Cup victories, especially the iconic 2011 win, are etched in our hearts, and we want to create new memories for our fans.”
