Jitesh Sharma reveals his story of building it all back up from the motes of dust
Jitesh Sharma’s presence in the RCB side has been of immense value. The hard-hitting wicket-keeper, however, didn’t create it all in a day. He had to brave through a strong phase of obstacles to arrive where he is today. He opened up about one of the toughest phases of his life on the latest episode of RCB Bold Diaries.
Jitesh talked at length about what went wrong for him during this profound test that he was trying to brave. He lost his spot in all three formats and eventually it took him three years to come back to the fore. He narrated the ordeal that followed thereafter and underlined what were the key lessons that he learnt from this particular phase.
Jitesh said, “I think until 2017, I was in a very good space and with a good mindset. I was playing in the IPL. I desired to play in the starting XI of the IPL because I was serving drinks at that point in time. That eagerness spoiled that phase for me because that eagerness made me want to do something extra in life. I was then removed from the longer formats and then one days and then I was not getting a chance in the T20s as well.”
He continued, “For the next three years, it wasn’t a bad patch but a learning one for me. As a human I grew a lot, the friends with whom I lost connection with, I got back to chatting with them. Then I made good friends and those who were around just for work, I distanced from them. I think God wanted that I go through those three years, filter some stuff out so that he could give me something good.”
