Jacob Bethell set to miss IPL 2026 playoffs due to injury

Dynamic left-handed opener Jacob Bethell will miss the IPL 2026 playoffs due to a finger injury sustained during RCB’s away game against the Punjab Kings at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala.

Bethell, who replaced the injured Phil Salt at the top of the order, played 7 matches for RCB in the ongoing season. While his 96 runs don’t necessarily paint a pretty picture, Bethell’s presence on the field saw the youngster take a few remarkable catches and save some crucial runs as well, contributing to RCB’s surge to the top of the points table at the end of the league stages.

The left-hander will fly back home to England to be assessed for his injury ahead of the 3-Test series against New Zealand, starting on June 4th.
