It reminded me of someone - Suryakumar Yadav talks on batting with Rinku Singh
Team India scripted a clinical win against Australia in the second match of the five-match T20I series as the hosts went 2-0 up, thanks to a resonating display with the bat from Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ishan Kishan and Rinku Singh. Amongst the bowlers, Prasidh Krishna and Ravi Bishnoi shined with a three-fer each.
The duo of Rinku Singh and the Indian captain, Suryakumar Yadav opened up briefly on the entire match-up and the crude intricacies that defined the fixture as the Men in Blue surged ahead.
Talking in an interview on the sidelines after the victory, Rinku Singh said, “I have been playing at 5-6 for a while, so I try to stay calm and focused. I just play the ball on its merit, watch the ball and play accordingly. He (Surya) is really good, we youngsters are enjoying ourselves with this setup. My role is to bat in the last 5 overs, so I have been working on his finishing skills. I do my net sessions with the same mindset.”
The Indian captain added to that in the post-match presentation, stating, “The boys are not putting too much pressure on me. They are taking onus. I told them before, be prepared to bat first. There was a lot of dew. We talked about defending it later. When I saw Rinku come in to bat in the last game, the composure he showed was brilliant. It reminded me of someone (laughs). Everyone knows the answer (laughs again).”
