RCB landed the dynamic Jitesh Sharma in the IPL 2024 mega-auction for INR 11 crore. The hard-hitting wicket-keeper will be donning the RCB threads for the upcoming IPL season and will be teaming up with Virat Kohli as two key players in the batting unit. In an exclusive interview with the Times of India, Jitesh Sharma revealed that he is looking forward to sharing the dressing room with VK and learning a lot from the seasoned Indian campaigner.

Jitesh said, “It will be great to play under Virat Kohli. I would love to play under him because he is so energetic and enthusiastic—it can push my limits. A person who is always involved in the game can inspire me to push my game further. I think I’ll try to learn from Kohli’s consistency and how he has kept himself fit and motivated over all these years.”

He also shed some light about his auction price, stating, “I wasn’t expecting anything from the auction. I was just hoping and praying to join a good team where I could play freely and express myself. I am incredibly grateful and thankful to God that I went to RCB—it feels like the perfect team for me.”

Jitesh Sharma will be coming in as a replacement for Dinesh Karthik who has been made the batting mentor of RCB for IPL 2025. Sharma’s prolific hitting flair is going to be key for RCB in the upcoming IPL alongside his reliable wicket-keeping skills.
