Annihilating bowling spells, batting pyrotechnics, spellbinding catches and enthralling last-ball finishes -  If one had to encapsulate Dream11 IPL 2020, it was no less than a blockbuster. 

Let us take a look at some of the significant statistics of the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League.

  • 734 sixes and 1582 fours - A total of 19,352 runs were scored in the tournament out of which 10,732 constituted from boundaries.

The Dubai International Stadium witnessed a deluge of runs, compared to the other venues. 

Scoring rate at various stages 

  • Out of the total 60 matches, teams batting second won 58.3% of matches in IPL 2019. Continuing the trend, the teams batting second won a majority of matches (29) in IPL 2020 as well.

Stat-Attack ft. RCB

  • RCB restricted Kolkata Knight Riders to the lowest powerplay score of the Dream11 IPL 2020. Thanks to Mohammed Siraj's captivating spell, KKR could only muster 17 runs in the powerplay. The pacer became the first player to bowl two maiden overs in a single IPL fixture. 

  • Devdutt Padikkal broke several records on his way to glory in IPL 2020. The southpaw was adjudged the Emerging Player of the Tournament for his spectacular performance with the bat. He set the record for most runs (473) scored by an uncapped player in a debut IPL season.

  • AB de Villiers went past Chris Gayle to become the player with most Man of the Match awards (23) in the entire history of the T20 league.

  • Yuzvendra Chahal spearheaded the RCB bowling attack quite convincingly, fetching 21 wickets in just 15 matches. 

  • In 2020, Royal Challengers Bangalore compiled a total of 2278 runs - with an average 20-over score of 151.86.

  • During Match 28 against Kolkata Knight Riders, AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli stitched their tenth-century stand - most by a pair in the history of the IPL.
