India’s schedule for West Indies series announced; 2 Tests, 3 ODIs and 5 T20Is to be played across July-August
The Indian cricket team will return to action after a disappointing World Test Championship Final outing when they take on West Indies in an all-format series, beginning with the first of two Tests on July 12th at Windsor Park.
With most senior players having played a lot of cricket with first the IPL and then the WTC Final, it is expected that a lot of youngsters will get a look-in, especially in the three ODIs and five T20Is to follow the two Test matches.
The two-Test series will mark the onset of India’s 2023-2025 WTC cycle, with the opening Test to be played from 12th to 16th July at Windsor Park in Dominica, while the second Test will be battled out from 20th to 24th July at Queen’s Park Oval. The second Test will be the 100th match in the longest format played between the two sides.
The Men in Blue will then swap their white jerseys for the new limited-overs kits to feature in the ODI series and the first three T20Is in the Caribbean, before they make the trip to Lauderhill in Florida for the last two T20Is.
Johnny Grave, the CEO of Cricket West Indies, said, “We are delighted to be able to confirm the schedule and venues for the highly anticipated visit by India. One of the highlights will be the 100th Test at the Queen’s Park Oval and this promises to be a fantastic occasion as we celebrate this historic event between these two proud cricketing nations.”
He further added, “We also look forward to hosting India in the white ball fixtures and welcoming fans to attend the matches across the region, as well as in the United States. It will be 18 days of entertainment for cricket lovers to enjoy and savour.”
