Indian team management makes a heartwarming gesture for its fast bowlers ahead of the T20 World Cup semi-final

Team India has been in fine form in the ongoing T20 World Cup as they reached the semi-finals and will be colliding with a formidable England at the Adelaide Oval on Thursday.

It has so far been an all-round display of brilliance as the batters have managed to pile up significant numbers on the board while the bowlers have been equally brilliant in defending the posted totals or restricting their counterparts well within the batters’ reach.

Going by the heritage of the Australian pitches, fast bowlers are an asset to any cricket team and India will be pinning their hopes on their pace bowling unit spearheaded by Bhuvneshwar Kumar and backed by Arshdeep Singh, Mohammed Shami and Hardik Pandya.

After playing their final group fixture in Melbourne, Rohit and his men touched down in Adelaide for the semi-final against the Three Lions. As there has been plenty of travel involved throughout the length of the World Cup, the Indian leadership wanted their fast bowlers to have the most comfortable seats in the house.

Going by the ICC cricketing standards, four business class seats are allotted to a team and they are for the coach, captain, vice-captain and manager. In a heart-warming revelation, a support staff of the Indian management revealed to the Indian Express, “Before the tournament, we decided that since the pace bowlers clock the maximum mileage on field day in, day out, they need to stretch their legs.”

Albeit these are very small gestures, they are essential to the bonding of a team. The stronger the bond, the better the performance and we have already seen how the Men in Blue have fared in the ongoing T20 World Cup and as the bigger games loom, the unit will be put to sterner tests.
