India eye unbeaten finish to Group Stages as Canada awaits
With three wins out of three games, Team India has already qualified for the Super Eight and will now be hopeful of stretching their run to a record fourth against a technically undercooked Canada in the last group stage fixture. Canada, on the contrary, had their fair shares of challenges and will be trying their best to finish things on a high.
With the New York leg of the tournament over, India will be hopeful of improving their batting numbers, which has been seriously tested so far with a handful of heroic displays bailing them out. However, with severe rains belting Florida at the moment that has seen the city flood, it is going to be a matter of interest where this match happens or not.
With an imperative win in their belt against Ireland, Canada was hoping to batten up their hatches but then defeats against USA and Pakistan that straddled their triumph in this edition of the tournament, the spirits have been somewhat dampened. With the last game of the group stages coming up and with nothing to lose, Canada will be amped up to squeeze out their best.
Venue Watch:
The surface on offer in Florida hasn’t been entirely kind enough to the batters but then it isn’t entirely gruesome either like the way the one at Nassau County was. Smarter applications and good timing can get the batters rolling but truth be told, one would witness risks taken way lesser than usual.
Head to Head:
This is the first time that the two teams will meet in a T20I.
