India finish group stage as table toppers as Rain Gods play spoilsport in Florida

In what proved to be an unfortunate ending for the fans in Florida, India’s final group stage fixture against Canada was washed away due to incessant rains. The stadium was locked and loaded with the fans but the Rain Gods didn’t wilt even for a second.

As things stood, India finished as the group toppers in Group A while USA tailed them into the Super Eight at the expense of Canada and Pakistan. India finished their group stages with three wins out of the four games.

USA finished second with emphatic wins against Pakistan and Canada but were unable to replicate their heroics against India despite a good start. Their last game Ireland was washed away without a ball being bowled as the downpour continued in the Sunshine State.

India will be starting their Super Eight campaign with a clash against Afghanistan on 20th June in Kensington Barbados.
