India eye further momentum against desperate England in Chennai
It was a grand start for the Indian cricket team as they outmuscled the English side in the T20I series opener. Riding high on an all-round performance, Team India rocked and rolled, clinching a staggering win by seven wickets. After two days of break, Team India is back to the yard again and this time the battle is going to be in Chennai.
The bowlers started the game on a high, pushing England back early on. Walking in similar footsteps, India continued to roar with the bat in their hand as Abhishek Sharma spearheaded the charge. The hosts will be hopeful of replicating a similar performance when they return to action while England will be desperate to rectify things.
England have had challenges with their batting unit in India before and the woes continued. They were knocked over for a paltry 132. However, the side has names who can flip the game in a heartbeat and they will be hoping that their big guns fire when it is needed the most. If India can seize the game today, that would give them a good advantage in the ongoing 5-match series.
Pitch conditions:
Chennai’s surface has always been conducive for the turners and the spinners will be hoping to take a centerstage again. The surface will have dew coming in towards the latter half of the game which will make batting a lot easier. One can expect runs to flow if the batters watch out for the spinners warily enough.
