I'm very happy with the responsibility of leading the attack: Mohammed Siraj after RCB’s win against RR
Mohammed Siraj played a crucial role with the ball against the Rajasthan Royals as he got the big wicket of Jos Buttler, removing the Englishman for a duck in his very first over. This was his 13th wicket that saw Siraj equalling Arshdeep Singh’s tally, and courtesy of his better economy rate, the RCB star currently wears the Purple Cap.
Siraj did concede a few runs in the middle but he kept his nerves under pressure to finish with figures of 4-0-39-2. He was significant in providing RCB that early breakthrough and after that, despite a fine partnership between Yashasvi Jaiswal and Devdutt Padikkal in the middle, the hosts kept control of the game.
Talking in a post-match interview about his current performances, Mohammed Siraj said, “I accept any challenge. My role is going well, wickets with the new ball and the ball is coming out of the hand nicely.”
He then gave a detailed insight into his bowling breakups, adding, “One ball swung in the first over when it swung into Jaiswal, then concentrated on my scrambled-seam as I trust that. There was a bit of reverse and it is not easy to hit sixers off the reverse on a hard length.”
Miyan would finally conclude by saying, “I'm very happy with the responsibility of leading the attack.”
As RCB moved up in the points table, registering their fourth win from seven games, Siraj also climbed to the top of the bowlers’ list with 13 wickets for the season.
