ICC announced the Champions Trophy schedule for its upcoming iteration as India will be opening their campaign with a clash against Bangladesh on February 20th. The all-important battle between arch-rivals, India and Pakistan will be played three days later in Dubai on February 23rd.
The deadlock that prevailed over India’s venues met its conclusion last week when it was announced that the Men in Blue will be playing their matches in a neutral venue while a similar arrangement was arranged for Pakistan in the tournaments that are to be held in India until 2027.
Group A saw India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and New Zealand being clubbed together while Group B included the likes of Australia, England, Afghanistan and South Africa. After a staggering hiatus of seven years, ICC Champions Trophy will be making a return, the last edition of which was clinched by Pakistan at the expense of India in 2017.
After their battles with Bangladesh and Pakistan, India will be playing their last group stage fixture against New Zealand on March 2nd. The top two teams from each group would qualify for the semi-finals which are to be played on March 4th and 5thbefore the grand finale unspools on March 9th.
