Ravindra Jadeja was ruled out of the Asia cup with a major knee injury that needed a surgery with his availability for the T20 World Cup which is scheduled to happen later this year still in doubt.

In the midst of all the doldrums, he dropped a positive update on his recovery post-surgery. Even though that guarantees nothing, Team India knows how crucial of a figure Jadeja is and when the team travels to Australia later this year, India will be hoping to use his services, if he can get fully fit.

The Indian all-rounder took to Instagram, post his surgery and said, “The surgery was successful. There are many people to thank for their support and involvement - BCCI, my teammates, support staff, physios, doctors and the fans. I will start my rehab soon and try to get back to soon as I can. Thank you to everyone for your kind wishes.”

It was reported after the Hong Kong contest that Jadeja had injured his knee and after NCA’s assessment, they couldn’t determine a timeline on when he could be fit. Speculations started brewing that he was already out of the T20I World Cup. However, Indian coach, Rahul Dravid had to state otherwise.

The former RCB captain and Indian cricket legend Rahul Dravid said, “Jadeja, he has injured his knee. Obviously, he is ruled out for the Asia Cup. He's under the care of the medical team, he has gone to see the doctors, he has gone to see the experts.”

With a successful surgery, Team India will be hoping to go into the World Cup on the back of full strength after a disappointing outing in the Asia Cup where they have crashed out having lost to Sri Lanka and Pakistan in the Super 4 stage.
