I wanted that situation – Suryakumar Yadav heaps praise on Nitish Reddy and Rinku Singh

India had a bit of a stutter in the second T20I against Bangladesh, losing three quick wickets. Eventually, it was the partnership of Rinku Singh and Nitish Kumar Reddy that saw the Men in Blue overcome the early jitters. The India captain, Suryakumar Yadav, highlighted that this situation was important as it allowed the hosts to test their batting depth.

SKY also emphasized how the bowlers stood out with the runs on the board. Apart from that he was also happy with how the rotation with the bowlers worked out in fine fashion as well, intensifying the happiness in the Indian camp.

SKY said, “I wanted that situation, wanted my batters (5,6,7) in that situation. Happy for both (Rinku and Nitish) of them. They batted exactly the way I wanted. You got to go out there and express.”

Talking about the various bowling options, he further added, “Just the jersey changes, rest remains the same. I wanted to see what different bowlers can do in different situations. Can they give me the difficult overs. Sometimes Hardik won't bowl, sometimes Washington Sundar won't bowl.”

He concluded by saying, “I wanted to see what the other guys had in store, really happy with it. It was his (Nitish) day, I thought let him enjoy and make it large.”
