Rinku Singh played a pivotal role in defining India’s victory against Bangladesh with a triumphant half-century in the second T20I. His partnership with Nitish Kumar Reddy played an instrumental role in revamping the Indian side after an early wobble that saw their top-order crumble despite a feisty start.

Singh, who smashed 53 from just 29 balls, clobbering five fours and three sixes, emphasized how going through the process has changed his dynamics. He also credited MS Dhoni for his evolution over the years while shining some light on his crucial partnership with Nitish Kumar Reddy and how it changed the game in India’s favour.

Rinku said, “I keep telling myself to remain calm in tough situations. It comes naturally to me as I have been playing at this position for a long time. I practice accordingly as well. I have talked a lot regarding this with Mahi bhai (MS Dhoni), which has helped.”

He concluded by talking about the partnership with Reddy, adding, “When you lose 3-4 wickets, you need to have self belief. We just wanted to build a partnership as the wicket was slightly slow, rotate strike and punish the bad balls. The momentum swung after that free-hit (off Mahmudullah) and Nitish gained a lot of confidence.”
