I want to play for India in all the three formats – Suryakumar Yadav
Suryakumar Yadav recently captained India to a 3-0 T20I series triumph over Sri Lanka and was also in sensational nick with the bat. To add to his growing credentials, he has now expressed his interest in being a part of the Indian Test squad and he is willing to do everything for that.
With India about to play a handful of Tests in short succession that will see them host Bangladesh for a two-match series, followed by New Zealand’s tour to India featuring three Tests, SKY wants to push as hard as he can to be a part of the red-ball squad for the Indian cricket team.
Speaking to the Times of India, SKY said, “I want to play for India in all the three formats. Playing in Buchi Babu will give me good practice for the red ball tournaments this season.” For the unversed, Buchi Babu tournament is one of the most renowned invitational domestic tournaments of India which has a bloated undertone of history linked with it.
Sanjay Patil who is Mumbai’s chief selector, added, “Surya just called me to tell me that he wants to play in the Buchi Babu tournament, and will be available from the second match onwards (TNCA XI at the same venue from August 27-30). Who wouldn't a player like him to play for them? It's a huge boost for Mumbai, and I'm very happy with his gesture.”
