I love different challenges and I am always looking forward to it – Jasprit Bumrah
On the opening day of the MCG Test, the face-off between Sam Konstas and Jasprit Bumrah took centre stage. Konstas rocked Bumrah for a six courtesy a reverse scoop, a shot which sparked chats about the debutant all around the world, hailing his overall technique. Konstas followed it up with a couple of more boundaries, as pundits were left with lingering questions on whether that impacted Bumrah’s head space.
However, in an interview after the end of the second day’s play, Bumrah highlighted that it is the nature of the game.
Talking in the interview, Bumrah pointed out that Konstas is an intriguing character on the yard and the kind of cricket that he played could have gone both ways. Bumrah believed that his experience in shorter formats of the game, makes him well equipped for the upcoming battles against Konstas.
Bumrah said, “I have experienced heaps of it. I have played T20s for the last 12 years of my life. Interesting batsman. I always felt that I was in the game, I never felt that I was far away from taking his wicket, maybe even 6-7 times in the first two overs. But you know, that's how cricket goes. Some days it pays off, it looks good, and some days it does not. I love different challenges and I am always looking forward to it.”
