I have had a really good bowling partner in Jasprit Bhai – Arshdeep Singh
As India gear up for the third T20I against South Africa, ace Indian quick, Arshdeep Singh spoke on how he's improved his game, while also shining some light on how Jasprit Bumrah's influence has gone a long way in helping the left-arm pacer elevate his skills.
Talking at the pre-match presser, Arshdeep said, “I just try to enjoy the present and have fun on the field and off the field. That's been my mantra. Playing along with some legends of the game and learning from them about mental and physical preparation... that's why I feel I have grown my game. I am trying to learn from wherever I can and do well for the team.”
On his bowling partnership with Jasprit Bumrah, he stated, “I have told this before as well: I have had a really good bowling partner in Jasprit Bhai. He has helped me enormously in taking wickets by creating pressure from the other end. Credit goes to him. And the main thing is how well I am able to adapt to the conditions and match situation is important. I look to attack the batters early, and in the death, I look to outsmart the batters and bring the game back towards us.”
Just at the tender age of 25 years, Arshdeep Singh has joined the ranks of the fast-bowling greats with 89 wickets from just 58 matches. With an impressive average of 18, the left-arm seamer continues to impress at the biggest stage of all.
