I am clear in my mind what I want to do – Suryakumar Yadav
Suryakumar Yadav played an exceptional knock yesterday, leading India to a phenomenal 181 on a surface where the par score was 136. Coming out to bat with the cream of the Indian batting back in the dugout, SKY had a mountain to climb.
Despite the wobbles and scare, SKY had no intentions of retreat as he continued to blaze his way through the bowling unit of Afghanistan playing a flurry of brilliant strokes. He smashed a 28-ball-53 before Fazalhaq Farooqi got the better of him. SKY was also the Player of the Match for his outstanding performance.
Talking at the post-match presentation, SKY said, “I think there's a lot of hard work, there are a lot of processes and routine involved in it. I am clear in my mind what I want to do. I don't mind giving this Player of the Match to a bowler. First time it's going to a batter (from India in this tournament), I don't mind.”
He further added, “I think you just need to know your game plan, and just play accordingly. I still remember when Hardik came in to bat, I told him let's bat with the same intent. Let's keep pressing the pedal and keep pushing, in the end very happy with a score of 180.”
