He's just a fantastic T20 player to watch: Faf du Plessis praises Suryakumar Yadav

Suryakumar Yadav has been highly instrumental in India’s 2022 T20 World Cup journey, churning out important knocks in crunch situations. He led the show from the front against Netherlands while in a bleak display against South Africa, he came out as India’s lodestar with another blazing display of 68 from just 48 balls.

There have been a lot of praises for the Mumbai batter who has displayed a phenomenal brand of cricket, playing some high-profile strokes on his very first trip to Australia as a member of the Indian cricket team. After his classic display of belligerence against South Africa, RCB captain Faf du Plessis had a few priceless words of praise for SKY.

Talking about his flair, Faf said, “His skillset is so high that as a bowler you don't feel like you can tie him down to certain areas. He's got all the different shots, scores in all the different areas.”

He further added, “The thing that stands out for me with him is his composure. With a guy who has got so many shots I almost never see him be frantic and feel rushed. He's just got this calmness about him. He knows when to pull that trigger, go through the gears, and he just always looks calm. He's just a fantastic T20 player to watch. He's the perfect guy that as a youngster you look at how you go through different gears at different stages of the game."

India’s next stop will be at Adelaide where Suryakumar Yadav will be hoping to continue his rich vein of form against Bangladesh, a game whose upshot would play a major role in deciding the fate of the semis from Group 2.
