I'm able to attack the batter because Bhuvi bhai is bowling so economically: Arshdeep Singh

Arshdeep Singh has been on song in the latest edition of the T20 World Cup, spearheading the Indian bowling charge, first against Pakistan where he bagged the all-important Pakistan opening duo, then against Netherlands with a neat opening spell. The game against South Africa was no different as he bagged a brace of wickets with the new ball with some nasty pace and movement.

Despite a lot of questions ahead of the T20 World Cup, the Indian bowling has been phenomenal so far and Arshdeep continues to lead the charge for the Men in Blue up front. Talking to News Agency, ANI, the Indian fast bowler credited his success to another of his fellow Indian quicks, Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

He said, “We study the batters' weaknesses, and myself and Bhuvi bhai try to get some swing first up and beat the batter at the start. I'm able to attack the batter because Bhuvi bhai is bowling so economically that the batter is already under pressure.”

He further added, “Credit for my success goes to him. The batters aren't taking chances against him (Bhuvneshwar) and are doing that with me. So, we have forged a good partnership. A bowling partnership is as important as a batting partnership.”

The partnership of Arshdeep and Bhuvi has perfectly complemented each other in their bowling exploits with the former claiming 7 wickets at an economy rate of 7.83 while Kumar has bagged 3 wickets at an economy rate of 4.87 thus far in the ongoing T20 World Cup.

As India take on Bangladesh on Wednesday, it would be another stiff challenge for India’s fast bowling partnership to establish a decent platform for the Men in Blue with the semis lurking on the horizon.
