Greg Barclay appointed ICC chairman for a second consecutive stint
Greg Barclay has been re-elected as the ICC chairman for a couple of years more as his counterpart, Zimbabwe chairman Tavengwa Mukuhlani withdrew from the contest late on Friday. Barclay’s first term in the chair was between 2022 and this November. He is all set to continue his term till 2024.
The BCCI camp was represented by Jay Shah and Arun Dhumal (the IPL chairman) who were already in Australia a week ahead of the ICC Board meetings. Shah will also be taking part in the F&CA and will be taking over as the chair of the committee at its next rendezvous in March 2023 from Ross McCollum, former Cricket Ireland chairman.
In a statement post re-election, Barclay said, “Over the last two years we have made significant strides forward with the launch of our global growth strategy that provides clear direction to build a successful and sustainable future for our sport.”
