Gameday Bold Diaries: It’s important to keep playing good cricket – Dinesh Karthik
It is an important fixture coming up for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru as they lock horns with the Punjab Kings in Dharamsala tonight. Ahead of the clash, Dinesh Karthik had important points to address, while highlighting the importance of the game and the location of the venue and what is the kind of impact that it can have on the contest.
Talking on the latest episode of the RCB Bold Diaries, our Finisher Supreme, Dinesh Karthik said, “It’s a beautiful stadium. You know in the night time, you don’t get to see the Himalayas as much as you would if it was a day game. Again, it is a very nice part of the world to be in.”
He further added, “For the start it swings a little more because at this altitude here, the air is slightly thin and hence you find a lot more swing and other side to it which is positive for batting. The positive thing about batting is that if you hit a ball, it would travel a little more than what it would if you play at an altitude which is at sea level. So that’s the difference here.”
DK continued, “I vividly remember Johannesburg being a ground very similar to this in terms of how much it carries a lot more. It’s again at an altitude so that helps the batter.”
He further said, “We still have somewhere to go. It’s very important that we focus on what we need to do. At this point of time we have found some momentum and rhythm it’s important to keep playing good cricket. The rest of it will follow through. I’m sure everybody’s watching matches. They are well aware of what’s happening. They also have their favourites to win every match that can help our team. More importantly for us, we need to be focusing on what we need to be doing as well.”
