Gameday Bold Diaries - It’s great going into this game in really good form – Andy Flower
As Royal Challengers Bengaluru will be locking horns with the Punjab Kings tonight, this fixture will be an important one for RCB as a win remains critical to their campaign. Ahead of this crucial clash, their head coach, Andy Flower had a few important things to add in context of this match-up on the latest episode of RCB Bold Diaries.
Flower said, “It’s generally a very good pitch here and the ball does travel. The batters are very happy to be playing at this altitude.” He also shed some light about a conversation that Dinesh Karthik had with the RCB captain, Faf du Plessis, where there were discussions about the hallowed Johannesburg stadium.
He added, “I heard DK talking to the skipper and he was likening this ground to the Johannesburg and the Bull Ring. So the batters are looking forward to it and the bowlers will have to be super skillful in creating chances against the opposition.”
Andy continued, “I think it’s great going into this game in really good form. Punjab Kings have had their ups and downs through the season as well. They are a dangerous side. They’ve got some serious power and a couple of their middle-order Indian batters, the younger guys, they have had some success which is nice to watch. But I think we are definitely heading in the right direction. I think our bowlers have been outstanding particularly our two Indian new ball bowlers, they have been superb. The batters have really been coming into some great form. I’m really looking forward to the game.”
