From LeBron James to Chris Hemsworth – RCB cricketers pick the celebrities that they would want to be for a day
When we talk about cricketers, the word ‘celebrity’ automatically tags along because when you are playing in a nation like India where the sport is worshipped, fans love you no matter what. But then as cricketers if you would have a chance to be someone outside the sport, who would that be? Well that was the exact same question which was answered by the Royal Challengers.
On one of the latest episodes of RCB Bold Diaries, the RCB cricketers picked that one celebrity that they would like to be, if they had the chance to be so.
RCB’s captain, Faf du Plessis said, “David Beckham.”
Akash Deep said, “I want to be Sachin Tendulkar. I have accepted him as my God since my childhood days. His nature and his calmness, I absolutely love that.”
Finisher Supreme, Dinesh Karthik said, “Roger Federer. I think he is the coolest guy. He’s got a nice warm persona and at the same time a brilliant family man. Has two lovely set of twins. He just gives the picture that he’s got it all. I’m sure he has but the outside world seems to embrace him just as much as his inner circle. So I really like that about him.”
Karn Sharma said, “I would like to say Shane Warne. What he did to be so successful in Australian conditions or in Asian conditions, that is absolutely amazing.”
Mahipal Lomror opted for another Mahi, stating, “I think MS Dhoni. I want to see what lifestyle he has. I have heard a lot of things about him that he doesn’t carry a phone with him. He likes to spend his own time the way he wants.”
Reece Topley said, “I would like to go back in time and be Dale Steyn at the start of his career. He’s probably the most complete fast bowler in my opinion to play the game.”
Anuj Rawat said, “Hrithik Roshan. The way he shows those dance moves and his body, that is amazing.”
Mayank Dagar said, “I think Virat bhaiya. He is always busy, there is so much work. Being on the field, training, what it’s like to live his life, to be in his shoes.”
Mohammed Siraj came up with the most obvious answer, “Cristiano Ronaldo for a day, for sure.”
Vyshak Vijaykumar said, “I would say Virat. I really want to know what he does because he’s been so fit and to maintain that for so many years. Obviously I would like to know what is his lifestyle and what does he do everyday.”
Swapnil Singh said, “Mahi bhai. Just the way he comes, he talks or so behaves on the field and off the field, just want to be him.”
Cameron Green said, “Maybe a movie star, maybe Chris Hemsworth. He’s an Australian. Yeah, being him for a day would be pretty cool.”
Rajat Patidar said, “Two names I would like to say. First is of Sachin Tendulkar and the second is that of Virat Kohli. The reason I want to be them both, is so that I can emulate them at least for a day, the kind of cricket that they have played.”
Will Jacks said, “I have always loved Messi. In England everyone likes football. I think he is the best player ever. I would love to experience life in his shoes. But I think that it would get tiring. Everyone would know who you are and there is no personal space. It would get tiring so one day would probably be good enough.”
Suyash Prabhudessai said, “I think Novak Djokovic because I think I have followed him for a long time now. I have even messaged him on Instagram. I really want to meet him because I love the way he goes about his game.”
Lockie Ferguson said, “It’d be cool I guess in a way to be LeBron James or someone like that. The physical abilities that he has are insane. I got close to dunking a ball while I was playing basketball but still striving for that.”
