COVID-19 scare has struck domestic tournament Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. According to a report, four Mumbai players from Mumbai have tested positive for COVID-19.

“Four players from the senior team have tested positive, they are Shams Mulani, Sairaj Patil, Prashant Solanki and Sarfaraz Khan,” news agency PTI quoted a source.

“We are conducting Rapid RT-PCR (of the players named as replacements) and their reports will come soon and accordingly they will join the team. We are also conducting the RT-PCR test of the other squad members,” the source said.

The BCCI has stringent COVID-19 protocols in place for the tournaments with all the stakeholders, including the players staying in a bio-bubble for the duration of the tournament.

The T20 domestic tournament starts on November 4th. Mumbai who are placed in Elite Group B will kick off their campaign on the opening day against Karnataka in Guwahati.
