Flashback to Vadodara – How RCB conquered the Capitals emphatically

RCB will be locking horns with the Delhi Capitals for the second time in the WPL 2025. Things might have not gone RCB’s way off late but the last time around, it was sheer domination from the Royal Challengers that saw them making quick work of last year’s finalists. Before the wheels get in motion in Bengaluru for one final time here’s what went down the last time the two teams clashed.
RCB won the toss and opted to bowl first. Renuka Singh struck on the very second ball to get rid of Shafali Verma for a duck. A fightback from Jemima Rodrigues and Meg Lanning saw the Capitals staying afloat for a while. However, the introduction of the Aussie duo, Georgia Wareham and Kim Garth, left Delhi scrambling.
A combined show of brilliance from Renuka and Wareham pushed the Capitals back. Renuka registered figures of 3/23 while Wolfie claimed figures of 3/25. Garth and Ekta Bisht had claimed two wickets each to restrict Delhi to 141.
Shooting down a modest total, RCB made quick work of the chase. Smriti Mandhana hammered away a rippling 81, clobbering 10 fours and three sixes while Danni Wyatt-Hodge played the perfect two to tango, knocking 42 off 33. Richa Ghosh finished the game in style after the century partnership between Mandhana and Danni. RCB chronicled a 8-wicket win against the Capitals.
