Dinesh Karthik sheds light on the review surrounding KL Rahul’s dismissal
The dismissal of KL Rahul was an extremely crucial moment in the LSG game for the Royal Challengers as the Giants captain looked to be in shape and played a very calculated innings until the unfortunate happened with Harshal’s ball whizzing past Rahul in what seemed like a wide delivery.
The umpire had suggested that the ball was kissing something on the way. It was unclear about what really was happening out in the middle. One moment it felt that RCB will be stepping foot in the following over, hatching another strategy to take Rahul out of the equation.
The very next moment, the RCB players were running all around in anticipation of one of the most reckoning moments of the game. Somehow, somewhere and someone had gone for a bowling review, and fast forward the clock by a minute and KL Rahul was heading back to the pavilion.
It felt like a lightning strike upon the usually calm heads of the Super Giants and the RCB players were delirious beyond measure. Now, what seemed unsure back then was who went for the appeal.
Dinesh Karthik shed some light on the exact incident and with the game done and dusted, now the incident makes a good story for a comic strip. Karthik said, “Actually I didn't know anything, to be honest. I thought he hit it. Virat came running but Virat comes running a lot so I always doubt that. I was waiting to see if anybody said anything and then because the umpire didn't give it wide, I told Faf just go for it. It was a key wicket because KL Rahul was batting well today.”
However, Rahul’s wicket certainly proved to be the game-changer as RCB started firing on all cylinders that eventually would see them walking away with the 2 crucial points.
