Royals hopeful of keeping their momentum alive against resurgent Capitals

Delhi Capitals will take on the Rajasthan Royals in an encounter that would promise thrill, excitement, drama and definitely a boatload of crazy cricket.

The Royals will be coming to this contest on the back of a thrilling win in a high-scoring encounter against the Kolkata Knight Riders where both teams scored 200 plus runs while it was Yuzvendra Chahal’s spinning wizardry that did the trick for the Royals in the end.

The Capitals posted a sumptuous bowling display that saw them dismantling the Punjab Kings and secure a comfortable win where their batters seemed least fazed by the invasive Kings. However, if you would take a look at the entire storyline of the tournament, Delhi Capitals have struggled to break free despite decent signings at the auction.

The Royals will be riding high on Buttler’s imperious form as the English biffer has smashed the bowlers mercilessly, leading the hunt for the Orange Cap. Similarly, their bowling department boasts of Yuzvendra Chahal who has been in terrific form, coming on the back of a fifer and a hat-trick in the last game.

The Capitals have the likes of Kuldeep Yadav in their bowling department who has been in fine touch and can be the perfect match for his turning counterpart, Chahal in the ranks of the Royals. They also come to this fray with a David Warner at the top, who can turn out to be an absolute bane for the bowlers if he manages to get going.

Venue Watch:

Wankhede has always been a wonderland for the batters with short boundaries and an absolutely flat track. Barring the early bounce in the first innings, there is hardly anything for the batters and it wouldn’t be astonishing if another 200 plus score is racked up. There will be dew in the second half of the game and that would be conducive for the batters out in the yard. There will be minimal assistance for the turners but then with the odds stacked heavily against the bowlers, it will need heart for the bowlers to make miracles happen.
