BCCI to request ECB for warm-up games ahead of England Test series
The BCCI will be requesting the England and Wales Cricket Board to arrange a couple of warm-up matches for the touring Indian team before the start of the five-Test series against England from August 4.
"Jay (Shah) will be speaking to ECB and its Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Tom Harrison to make an arrangement for two warm-up games before the five-Test match series," BCCI treasurer Arun Dhumal told the Indian Express.
Dhumal said that Secretary Jay Shah felt that the board should request for warm-up games so that the players can get some practice before the series starts.
Indian team will be entering the bio-bubble again on July 14 for the series against England. With COVID protocols in place, it is difficult for boards to stage a practice game.
However, with a long break between the recently concluded WTC final and the start of the England series allows both the boards to chalk out a plan for the warm-up games.
