The BCCI announced a change to the dates of the limited overs series against Sri Lanka which will now be played from July 27th instead of the earlier mentioned date of July 26th. Pallekele will be playing host to all the three T20I contests with the second T20I happening without a day’s gap.
Likewise, the dates for the ODI series have also been postponed by a day as it will now start on August 2nd instead of the 1st of the month. The second and the third ODIs are slated to be played on August 4th and 7th respectively.
Since 2021, this is going to be India’s first bilateral tour to Sri Lanka. The last time India set foot in the islands saw Rahul Dravid stepping up as the interim coach of the side while Ravi Shastri was still dealing with the main team. Shikhar Dhawan was the captain of the Indian team that played in Sri Lanka while the first string Indian cricket team was in England for the Test series.
