Axar Patel’s fifers impress Sachin Tendulkar

Impressing Indian cricket’s all time great does not come easy. But Axar Patel seems to have achieved that quite early in his career. 

In his debut Test, he claimed a fifer, thus becoming the 9th bowler from India to do so. Continuing his great run, he went a notch better in the next Test at Ahmedabad and bagged fifers in both innings of the match.

Sachin Tendulkar is mighty pleased with what Axar has achieved in the ongoing series against England. In a YouTube video, the Master Blaster said, “Of course, Axar, the last three innings, you’ve bowled, you’ve picked up five or more wickets, brilliant. That’s something one would want to consistently repeat. The start has been magnificent. I’m sure, in the fourth Test match you would go on and delivery. It is important from India’s point of view, to go and play the World Test Championship final.”

But it was not just Axar who left Sachin impressed. Ravichandran Ashwin too has been in his elements in the series and Sachin heaped high praise on the Chennai stalwart as well.

“Ashwin is an experienced campaigner. Ashwin, by the way, 400 wickets is a magnificent achievement. Keep it up buddy, keep going strong,” Tendulkar added.

India have taken the 2-1 lead in the Test series, and it’s these two spinners who deserve a lot of credit for that.
