RCB Bold Dairies: Anuj Rawat speaks about his cricketing dreams surrounding RCB

Royal Challengers Bangalore has always savored a reputation for harnessing raw youth and turning them into explosive stars who would go onto become prominent faces of posterity in the franchise and the nation’s cricketing fabric.

From Virat Kohli to Mohammed Siraj, the tradition has thrived in the echelons of the Challengers and RCB’s exploits at the latest auction ensured that the tradition continued. 

One of their most talked-about young guns for the season was none other than Anuj Rawat, a promising young wicket-keeping batter who can be the next big thing in Indian cricket.

He came unhinged on RCB’s Bold diaries, talking about his connection with the franchise and how the Royal Challengers’ think tank believed in him making a significant impact in the upcoming days.

Talking about playing for the Royal Challengers Bangalore, he said, “Playing for such a big franchise, it has been a dream come true for me. This has been one of the franchises that I have always dreamt of playing for since I have started playing cricket and watching IPL.”

He further added, “It feels great to be a part of Royal Challengers Bangalore and I am very happy to be a part of it.”

Quoting about his price tag pressure, he said, “I was expecting to be picked by a big franchise but I wasn’t expecting this much of an amount.”

RCB’s head scout, Malolan Rangarajan said, “At the end of the day, all the guys that we have are professionals. It is important for the cricketers to understand that the price tag isn’t necessarily associated with the quality of the cricketers. It has a lot to do with the dynamic of the auction.”

Malolan spoke further about Anuj Rawat, saying, “He knows that he is prepared for the tournament to kick off. He can actually fill multiple roles for RCB and that is why we think that he deserved the paycheck that he is getting.”
