Always feel proud to wear this jersey: Virat Kohli pens a heartfelt tweet after India crash out of the T20 World Cup
Despite all the hustle and bustle from his blade, Virat Kohli was shattered as Team India bowed out from the T20 World Cup with a shattering defeat against England in the semi-final. The former Indian captain finished as the highest run-scorer for India in the tournament with 296 runs.
Even in the defeat to the English forces, he managed to rack up a well-constructed half-century and ushered the Indian forces till the very end. Virat Kohli took to Twitter to post about India’s defeat and opened up on the heartbreak that followed.
Kohli tweeted, “We leave Australian shores short of achieving our dream and with disappointment in our hearts but we can take back a lot of memorable moments as a group and aim to get better from here on. Thank you to all our fans who turned up in huge numbers throughout to support us in the stadiums. Always feel proud to wear this jersey and represent our country."

As mentioned earlier, Kohli secured 296 runs at a fine average of 98.66 and will likely finish as the highest scorer of the tournament. The former Indian captain had severe flak hot on his trail while coming to this encounter but he managed to return to a grander scheme of affairs, playing some neat innings on the trot.
In the six innings played by Virat, he hammered four half-centuries in the T20 World Cup that also starred a match-winning 82 against Pakistan, helping the Men in Blue seize a thrilling win in the tournament opener. With the wounds from crashing out of the extravaganza still fresh, India will be preparing for their upcoming series against New Zealand followed by an important tour of Bangladesh.
