Adam Gilchrist fires massive warning to Australia ahead of the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy

Former Australia captain, Adam Gilchrist, shared his opinion on how India has emerged as a strong contender to win overseas in the longest format of the sport. As Australia prepare to host India for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy towards the end of 2024, Gilchrist was clear in his warning about taking India seriously.

Talking to Times of India, Gilchrist said, “It is going to be another tough series for both teams. Onus is on Australia to prove they are the dominant force at home. India knows how to go away and win overseas.”

He further added, “India’s fast-bowling line-up at the moment is up there, on a par with most around the world. They are going to enjoy the conditions here. Besides, they have a terrifically talented batting line-up. It is going to be very, very even.”

Gilchrist concluded by stating that he will point to Australia as the favourites to win the series but has every reason to believe that this going to be a very close contest.
