Virat Kohli and Smriti Mandhana make ripples in CEAT Cricket Rating Awards
The CEAT Cricket Rating Awards were held on Wednesday and it saw a star-studded evening bedecking Mumbai as cricketers from across the globe were rewarded for their annual performances in the last season. The awards witnessed Rohit Sharma being named as the Men’s ODI Batter of the Year while Mohammed Shami was awarded the Men’s Test Bowler of the Year.
Tamil Nadu’s R Sai Kishore was awarded the Domestic Cricketer of Year for his excellent performance that saw him leading Tamil Nadu to the summit clash of the Ranji Trophy. New Zealand’s Tim Southee bagged the Men’s T20I Bowler of the Year while England’s Phil Salt secured the Best T20I Batter of the Year.
In women’s cricket, Harmanpreet Kaur was handed over a memo for leading India in most number of matches in T20I history. Smriti Mandhana was named as the Women’s Indian Batter of the Year while Deepti Sharma clinched the same honour for her bowling exploits.
