5 RCB players named in India’s squad for Women’s T20 World Cup 2024
India have named a familiar-looking squad for the T20 World Cup 2024 due to be held in UAE, retaining 14 out of 15 players who were a part of the recently-concluded Asia Cup.
Wicket-keeper Uma Chetry was the only one who was omitted from the squad and she was replaced by Yastika Bhatia, a talented southpaw known for her aggressive batting and wicket-keeping skills.
Five Royal Challengers made the cut for the hallowed biennial extravaganza in the Indian squad - namely Smriti Mandhana, who is also India’s vice-captain with Richa Ghosh, Renuka Singh, Shreyanka Patil and Asha Sobhana forming the quintet. For Asha Sobhana and Shreyanka Patil, this is going to be their first World Cup outing.
However, Shreyanka and Yastika’s inclusion to the squad is subject to fitness, especially after the former suffered a fractured finger in her left hand during the an Asia Cup 2024 clash against Pakistan.
