Cameron White, the former RCB and Australian national cricketer has decided to hang up his boots on a fruitful career. White represented Australia in 4 Test matches, 91 ODIs and 47 T20 internationals over an international career spanning 13 years. White donned the RCB colours in 15 games between 2008 and 2010 after being picked up in the first-ever IPL auction. At the time, the Aussie talisman owned the record for the highest individual T20 score of an unbeaten 141 playing for Somerset.

White played for the Adelaide Strikers in the 2019/20 season of the BBL, his third team in the Australian league having previously represented both the colours of Melbourne. White, however, found playing time hard to come by, and that seems to have convinced him to call time on his playing career. "I've definitely finished up playing, that's for sure," White told cricket.com.au. "I had a one-year playing contract with the Strikers. I only played a handful of games with them last year and in those games, I would have needed to play really well to get another deal. To be totally honest, I'm pretty content. I think my time is definitely up, I've had enough from a playing point of view and I'm ready to focus on coaching.”

White has already begun his transition into coaching, currently mentoring Victoria’s prospective U-19’s via Zoom, a team he represented in domestic cricket. A veteran of 177 games, and over 10,000 runs in first-class cricket, White has been part of six Sheffield Shield titles for Victoria.

White last BBL assignment with the Strikers also involved coaching, and the cricketer affectionately known as ‘Bear’ among his peers, is eager to carry on along the same lines. "I'm just keen to get involved in it (coaching) and give it a go. I don't know if I'll be any good at it. I've enjoyed the bits and pieces I've done so far. Part of my role with the Strikers last year involved coaching. Over my playing years, a lot of those as captain, I played that role of a coach a bit as well so hopefully I can enjoy it and be half decent at it," White added.

We wish Cameron White a happy retirement from his playing career and all the very best in his future endeavours.
