Brett Lee hopes crowd will be allowed during India-Australia series
Cricket might return soon but it’s going to look a lot different from pre-COVID-19 days. There’s an ongoing debate over use of saliva to shine the ball. And, until now, there’s been a unanimous consensus about holding matches behind closed doors with no spectators and opening the gates only when the world is better equipped to tackle the virus.
But former Australia pacer Brett Lee hopes that crowd will be allowed during India’s tour of Australia which will see the two sides square off in a 4-match Test series starting December 3rd in Brisbane.
"I really hope that when India tours Australia this year, there will be spectators allowed, but if they are not allowed, it will be difficult, when I played cricket, I used to get a lot of energy from the crowd," Brett Lee told Tendulkar during an interaction on 100 MB app.
Lee also suggested an alternative in case the situation does not improve to the extent of having people inside the stadium.
"Maybe, if there is no crowd, they can have speakers with the fake crowd in, it can be used in the India-Australia series," he added.
India vs Australia has grown into one of the most enthralling affairs of the game and the upcoming series is expected to be another closely fought contest.
On their previous sojourn, Virat Kohli’s men won the Test series 2-1 and would like to repeat their feat against World’s number one ranked Test team.
