India’s Yogesh Kathuniya claimed his second consecutive Paralympics silver medal in Men’s Discus Throw F56 with his seasonal best of 42.22m in the ongoing Paris Para Games.

Rocking the Stade de France with an impressive display, he had a close shave with Brazil’s Claudiney Batista dos Santos. However, the Brazilian held onto Gold with an Olympic record of 46.86m.

It was Greece’s Konstantinos Tzounis who secured a bronze with a throw of 41.32m. Tzounis survived a late scare when Slovakia’s Dusan Laczko finished fourth with a throw of 41.20m.

Yogesh began the contest with his best throw that was worth 42.22m, slotting him second behind Claudiney. Two modest throws from Yogesh kept him placed comfortably in the second slot while the challenges from Tzounis despite being solid couldn’t really match the might of Yogesh.
