WTC headed towards an exciting finish because of India: Ramiz Raja
After India’s head coach Ravi Shastri suggested that in future World Test Championship should explore the possibility of having best of three finals, former Pakistan batsman Ramiz Raja has floated another interesting proposition.
Raja thinks that ICC World Test Championship should have been conducted in a six-month window with no other format during that period.
"I think the World Test Championship should have been conducted in a completely different window. A six-month window during which teams could have played against each other. Other formats should not have been conducted in this window, because if you are keen to uplift the Test cricket, this type of window has to be created," Raja said on India News Sports.
"The span of two years is quite long and people might forget who played against whom.”
Raja also said that the tournament is headed towards an exciting finish because of the fact that India are playing the final.
“The tournament has become interesting just because India is in the final. Had it been some other team playing New Zealand, there wouldn’t have been that much interest," Raja said.
Indian team has reached Southampton and will be starting their training soon for the all-important final.
