Will Jacks shines in the Hundred 2023 final to fuel Oval Invincibles to a title win

They say cometh the hour, cometh the man and one man who is the perfect example for a human embodiment of the statement is Will Jacks.

Blessed with a very special knack for emerging as the hero of the most pressure-cooker situations, Jacks has often aided his team's path to coming out on top.

Talking about another ‘under the pump’ moment, Jacks played a significant role as the Oval Invincibles triumphed over the Manchester Oritinals to lift The Hundred 2023 trophy.

Although Jacks couldn’t shine with the bat as he could only garner 14 runs from 14 balls, it was with the ball that he made a major impact. Chasing 162, the Originals were off to a brilliant start despite a rare blip in the form of Jos Buttler’s wicket.

However, Jacks was introduced during those middle overs where he dealt a double whammy to send Laurie Evans and Paul Walter back to the pavillion that left the Originals devoid of any firepower in their engine room, a couple of telling blows almost smoothened the way for Oval to secure a clinical victory.

Jamie Overton did put up a show with the bat in the end for the Originals but the damage was already too heavy to be compensated for and despite the former’s late lunge, it was the Invincibles who lifted the Hundred trophy. Jacks finished with figures of 15 balls, 7 dots, 11 runs and a couple of scalps to end the tournament on a high.
