Varun Chakaravarthy's sizzling showdown was one of the standout performances from the hosts' perspective in Rajkot, as the mystery spinner registered five wickets and made life difficult for the England batting order. to reduce England to an uncomfortable position before finally able to salvage a win to keep the series alive. Varun picked up the wickets of Jos Buttler, Jamie Smith, Jamie Overton, Brydon Carse and Jofra Archer to register his second-best figures in T20I cricket.

Talking at the post-match presentation, Varun Chakravarthy said, “Sad we didn't make it this match, but that's the nature of this game. Got to move on and get ready for the next match. When you are playing for the country, you have to take responsibility. I am able to do that to an extent.”

He further added, “I don't complain (about one over spells), because there have been times when I have bowled four overs on the trot. I am ready for everything. Working on my flipper, it's coming out well. As I told you in the previous match, maybe I have bowled well, but I can get better going forward.”

India plays their next game in Pune on the 31st of January where they will be hopeful of pocketing the series. However, with the first win of the series in their kitty, England will be hopeful of keeping the series alive with another resounding performance.
