What stands out is his attitude – AB de Villiers on Mohammed Siraj

Mohammed Siraj was in sensational form against Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup final, delivering a historic 6-wicket haul that made the world stop and take notice of his talent. However, this game was just the glass-shattering crescendo of what has been an incredible year for Miyan in every single thread that he has donned, may it be the Red and Gold of RCB or India colours.

Minute adjustments from Siraj have seen him honing his skills over the last one year and he is one among the most dangerous bowlers in the modern day circuit when it comes to bowling with the new ball. Currently the world No.1 bowler in ODIs, Siraj received immense praise from his former teammate and RCB hall of famer, AB de Villiers, for his incredible bowling display.

Talking on his Youtube channel, ABD said, “He's still young even though we've been seeing him for ages. We are very familiar with that face and that bowling action. What stands out for him is his attitude, we've spoken about this before on this series. Attitude can really uplift you. If you never give up, if you make your attitude catch up with your teammates, the fans want you. That's where you start doing special things in the park.”

He further added, “Siraj always keeps coming back, he's always in your face. The bowlers who are respected most are those who never give up. They are always in your face, that's what Siraj does. He's not afraid of trying the short ball, he's there in the batter's face, he's always trying to get you out. And Sri Lanka certainly felt that in the final.”

Miyan is going to be a crucial part of the upcoming ODI series against Australia as India start their final chapter of preparation ahead of the World Cup 2023.
