Royal Challengers Bangalore registered a massive win against the Rajasthan Royals in their latest IPL battle where they went head-on in the latter’s den and braved past some early hurdles to romp home with a 112-run victory at Jaipur.

RCB didn’t make the brightest of starts in the powerplay after opting to bat first, putting up 42/0 from six overs. However, another important 69-run stand between skipper Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell swung some momentum RCB’s way, before a thrilling finish to the innings from Anuj Rawat, who struck three fours and two sixes in his 11-ball 29* helped RCB to a more than competitive 171/5. Much to the woes of the Royals’ faithful, the RCB bowlers produced a rip-roaring performance with Wayne Parnell (3/10) leading the way, assisted by Michael Bracewell (2/16), Karn Sharma (2/19), Mohammad Siraj (1/10) and Maxwell (1/3) too.

Amongst the glistening list of performances for RCB on the day, Michael Bracewell was one of those heroes who would go on to bag a couple of crucial wickets in the form of Devdutt Padikkal and Dhruv Jurel.

Talking in the post-match chat, Michael Bracewell first talked about his return to the playing XI and then referenced his top performance from the game. He said, “It was nice to get those two points. Very valuable in this competition. For me to come back and contribute to the win was nice.”

Shedding light on his mindset while not being a part of the XI and preparing to ready himself when given the chance, Bracewell said, “We have great support staff here and you feel very included even if you are not in the playing eleven. I was just trying to stay up to speed as much as I could.”

He would further talk about Anuj Rawat’s late blitz, stating, “That was a massive innings. It was a difficult innings to get going on, and it gave us all the momentum going into the second innings. The way our bowlers started was spectacular as well. Our top three did all the dirty work to build a foundation for Anuj to capitalize at the end.”

Bracewell would conclude by saying, “I try to not get too caught up with the highs and lows of the game and just take it ball-by-ball. Two more must-win games and we are trying to take it game by game. As a group, we thrive under this sort of pressure, of having to win and having the tournament on the line.”
