We have to be smart in terms of bringing the big side into play: Mike Hesson

Royal Challengers Bangalore will be playing their last game of the group stage in the Dr. DY Patil Stadium as they take on the debuting Lucknow Super Giants on an electric Tuesday evening.

This will be the fourth game at this venue in the campaign for RCB and so far, the numbers seemly slightly inclined towards the other side as the Challengers have secured just a solitary win that came against the Kolkata Knight Riders.

In RCB’s latest Bold Diaries episode, Mike Hesson spoke about the DY Pail Stadium. “We are still seeming to learn a lot in dealing with the short side. We played a couple of games right on the extreme. In fact, we have three of the four games that have been extreme for us,” he said.

He shed some light on the strategy that has been schemed in the dressing room as he said, “We have to be smart in terms of bringing the big side into play. Make sure, we don’t get hit straight. It’s short straight both sides.”

“So, from a batting point of view, we probably got it right once. So here is another opportunity for us to get it right as a batting unit. We got enough experience to defend on that surface,” he concluded.
