India will be locking horns with West Indies in Jharkhand for their second T20I challenge. After a fine win in the series opener, the Men in Blue will be going hard at the visitors to try and double their tally in the series.

India put in a fearless approach in the last game, chasing 172 in less than 15 overs, spearheaded by Captain Shreyas Iyer.

Ahead of the second T20I, India’s batting coach, Sitanshu Kotak opened up on what India’s potential approach for the second T20I should be. He also opened up on India’s bench strength and why it is critical for the ongoing series against the Islanders, who are an absolute powerhouse in the shortest format of the game.

Highlighting India’s approach in the pre-match presser, Kotak said, “I think the way we are approaching, the fearless approach and team first. That's the same way we'll go. No matter, it might be different wickets also, but in T20 generally you get a good wicket. So that will be the same thing. The way we want to approach the T20 will continue.”

Explaining India’s bench strength, Kotak added, “Some games we are not playing Bumrah, giving him a rest. Some games some other senior players also not playing. So then obviously any team in the world will require a bench strength, and somewhere and somewhere you have to give them chances. So sometimes the result does suffer, but normally I think we have enough strong bench strength that our results also doesn't suffer as much.”
