We had the chance to do it after 5 years – Smriti Mandhana elated on India-W’s T20I series win

The Indian women erased a long drought to clinch their first T20I series in the last five years as they vanquished West Indies in the series finale emphatically. Smriti Mandhana, Raghvi Bisht and Richa Ghosh delivered with the bat to spearhead the Indian charge as the visitors had a tough day in office.
Winning the Player of the Match for her sumptuous display with the bat, Smriti Mandhana opened up at length in the post-match presentation and highlighted how special the victory was for the Indian cricket team. She also heaped massive praise on Richa Ghosh for her incredible knock that helped India cross the hallowed 200-mark.
Mandhana said, “It's been five years since we haven't won a T20I series in India. That was the chat earlier in the day. We had the chance to do it after 5 years. Need to keep doing the right things now. With the kind of batting line-up, we have some new youngsters. So need to take responsibility.”
She concluded with a word about her batting, stating, “More than timing the ball, I try to put my head into playing according to the situation. Liked the way Richa Ghosh batted. The way the girls stepped up today, they played with a lot of intent. I wouldn't have been able to play like that in my second or third match.”
